The ‘Solar Panel Tax’ Scare

Not all that we read on Facebook and other social platforms is 100% correct…

There have been rumours around the network of ‘solar’ people in Thailand. Those currently using or wanting to use Solar in their homes and have panels installed on their roof tops are concerned that there will be a ‘tax or levy’ imposed on them.

These claims have however been researched by our team, here at EyeKandi Solar, and we have since found out exactly what has been said.

There will be no levy imposed on small scale solar systems

“There is no charge for electricity from solar panels installed on the roof, also known as “Solar Roof” type used in the home. Because it is installed in a small amount of electricity.” Statement made by Mr. Veerapol Jirapraditkul of the Energy Regulatory Commission.

It does seem that there will be some levy charged on those bigger solar farms, however, the ‘levy’ will be a mere 100 – 200 Baht per month. So there is nothing to worry about.
